Budget 2025/26
My mission is to make Lancashire safer through strong leadership and tough scrutiny, ensuring an effective and efficient policing service that meets the needs and expectations of our residents. Neighbourhood policing has long been a cornerstone of our community, and I am committed to investing in local teams to rebuild connections and restore trust and confidence in our police force.
My budget for 2025/26 will strengthen neighbourhood teams, tackle crime and anti-social behaviour, and ensure that offenders are brought to justice. I will drive improvements in the service provided by the Constabulary, holding the Chief Constable accountable for promptly responding to calls and public contact, together with the professional handling of crime reports.
68% of residents who participated in my recent budget survey support increased funding for Lancashire Constabulary. I will ensure that the £14 increase in the council tax precept for 2025/26 — equivalent to 27p per week for a Band D property— will be spent on your policing priorities to make Lancashire a safer place for everyone.
